I can’t believe that it’s been over a week that I gave birth to our little angel name Beatrice Lorraine Clevenger last May 18, 2009 at Willow Creek Women’s Hospital. She weighed 9 lbs. and 2 ozs. and 20 ½ inches long.
I didn’t even know that I’m in labor since my contraction isn’t that bad, it started a month ago but last 18 of May my contraction became closer and I just didn’t bother about and just sleep through with it until around 6:30am and my hubby is getting ready for work and I told him about it and he asked if I needed to go to the clinic and I said NO since the pain are still bearable and I hate to hold him up since that would be his last day to report for work before his vacation and I know he would be busy that day.
So I called up my SIL and told her about it and she advices that I’d better go to the clinic and I told her that I really want to go to work so I would just forget about it, so I will have the baby on the 20th (which is also my birthday) which I am scheduled for a C-section cause the baby did not drop for 3 weeks and she is already 9 lbs and my pelvis is small for her head and she said you don’t want to have that baby born in your office and if the clinic said that your not in labor then you can go to work. So I called up my co-worker and boss to let them know that I think I’m in labor and I can’t make it to the office today.
And I just take my time by calling my MIL and told her that she better be prepared cause I think I’m in labor and the hospital may hold me or let me go home. And I took shower and iron my hair and my SIL called back in and said you’re still at home and I said yeah I just finished taking shower and I’m fixing my hair and I will call the clinic around 8am since they open at 8am and I called the clinic around 8:45am and told them that I got 5 contractions in 10 minutes and it’s getting to 3 contractions in 5 minutes and the lady on the other line you better come up here soon and I told her that is it okay if I go there later since I’m still fixing myself and she said you better hurry up girl. Even with hesitations I called up my hubby and told him that the clinic wants to see me soon but I told him just to take his time since I know he is busy and I’m still fixing my hair.
Off we went to the clinic past 9am and waited for a good 10-15 minutes in the lobby after the doctor got to see me and he said that I am dilated to 7 cm, 100% efface and the baby did drop to 0 station and they said we will let you try to do it via Vaginal delivery, since even I was schedule for C-Section and he said go ahead check in at the hospital downstairs.
And off we went to the hospital and we waited for at least 5 to 10 minutes and then I was in the labor room changing to a hospital gown, nurses are getting ready for everything and I was hooked to an IV, the baby monitor was connected to my belly, my blood pressure and contraction was being track in a monitor, and the blood was drawn. The nurse asked me if I want to have an epidural and I said can I wait for an hour or two cause I’m afraid that the baby would stop progressing and she said if that happens we will give you some pitocin to help and you just have 30 minutes to decide so I went ahead agreed to have some epidural and they went out of the room called up some anesthesiologist and in 10 minutes he is wheeling his tools and keeping everybody settled and working on my back.
So after all the works they had done to me, I’m just there in the bed waiting for the progress and I was fully dilated and still my bag of water hasn’t broke yet and so the nurse called the doctor so they can break it and when they did they waited some more and checking if the baby will drop more in a good station. Past 3pm the nurse told me that the baby hasn’t drop anymore and she hates that she will let me push for 2 to 3 hours and the baby is not in a good station and I will still end up having the C-Section so he called the doctor and have him evaluate me and indeed he agreed too and he said I will not let the sun go down on you without having this baby. There’s still someone in the Operating Room and in 30 minutes or so she will be out and you are next.
So another anesthesiologist came in to add more drugs just to make sure that I would be numb for the surgery, and that was the bad part cause I feel like my throat is constricted and I can’t breathe and I keep telling the doctor that I can’t breathe and I’m dying and they were just no you are not you are still talking so you are still breathing and I keep saying it and he keep reassuring me that I’m fine and they wheeled me to the OR and my hubby was left behind to put on some sterile gown for him to join me in the OR.
And when I was settled in the OR we waited for the doctor around 15 to 20 minutes and when he came in the anesthesiologist is keeping me up and he is really nice if I have a little complain he tries to do something to make me feel comfortable and when the doctor started opening me up I feel a little better and after 10 to 20 minutes the baby was delivered at 5:04pm.
The other nurse staffs was working with the baby and the other was working on me, and later my hubby got to hold the baby and show her to me and then they left for the nursery and after they were done with me they wheeled me to the recovery room and after 30 to 45 minutes I was wheeled back to our regular room and after 5 minutes I was joined by my hubby with the baby and my MIL. I was in heaven when I see my baby and the birthing experience was awesome, cause the pain was bearable and things went fast.
And I’m grateful to have a very loving and supportive hubby who was there from the start until we had the baby and he is thoughtful about my well-being. My in-laws who is just so generous and loving they do all there best to cater to our needs. My friends here and abroad and my family back home who make things bearable. And most of all the Almighty father who never abandoned us through all this journey.

And this is the winner, I really love this diaper bag that our pastor's wife made especially for me..jpg)
